What an historic day for Wise County. Thursday, May 2, 2013, the National Day
of Prayer. Not only was it impactful because Wise County was gathering, but we were joining thousands across the country, to pray for God to touch our nation.
Today was different though. Normally the Texas weather in May is usually beautiful, but today was different. Record colds and rain threatened to dampen the spirit of this usually active event. Upon waking, Connie McCrary, the coordinator for this years event, felt like the Holy Spirit told her to see if it would be possible to use one of the inside rooms for the event instead of gathering on the lawn like years past.
As she sought approval, she was surprised to find that the 271st District Court room was empty and it could be used to get the gatherers out of the cold weather. It was a joyous, prayerful event as one by one, pastors and community leaders prayed for God to move in the 7 areas of influence in our nation.
Then, others gathered later in the day, taking shelter on the porch and braving the cold and rain. Community Church gathered and huddled, seeking God's guidance and wisdom. Then Grace and Harlan Wright, WRPN coordinators, joined with Doc Dennis and several from Full Armor biker church as we declared God's Kingdom purpose for our region.
Regardless of the cold weather, God moved on behalf of our prayers as we came together in unity for His purposes. May God abundantly bless Wise County, Texas, and America.
